Transforming the world through stories

my mission

I believe in the power of stories. I want to tell stories that impact people’s lives for the better and make room for them to tell their own.

I have been singing, dancing, and telling stories for as long as I can remember. It’s where I feel most like myself. I performed in my first musical when I was ten years old and fell completely in love; I’d finally found a medium that allowed me to do all three of my favorite things!

Many songs, dances, and scenes later, I attended Syracuse University where I would ultimately graduate with a B.F.A. in Acting in 2009. During my sophomore year at Syracuse, I was cast in a production called The Red Sun and The Green Moon which toured elementary schools in upstate New York. Talkbacks were a regular part of our performances and those interactions with students sparked my curiosity about the world of educational theater. I finally acted on that interest in 2011 when I was accepted into the Educational Theater program at New York University where I would eventually earn an M.A. in Educational Theater in Colleges and Communities and decide to pursue a career as a teaching artist while continuing my own art making.

Hello again!

Thank you for choosing to learn a little more about me. I’m so glad you’re here and I’m already loving your curiosity.

Since then, I’ve been on a wild journey of creating and educating that has included opportunities to work with incredible organizations around the country including New York Theatre Workshop, Pasadena Unified School District, Seattle Children’s Theatre, the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

Along the way, I’ve seen that engaging in the theater-making process can have a profound impact on people’s social-emotional development, and ability to empathize and engage compassionately with the world around them. I knew that what I did helped them to be better artists, but I was also seeing them become better human beings. This journey has affirmed my belief that stories are powerful and that making room for people to share and experience them can actually help to change the world.
